Electra Business Awards

 

The big award of the night is the ELECTRA BUSINESS OF THE YEAR - judged as being the best from within the winners of Categories and Excellence Awards.  The Business Awards were announced at a gala dinner in Levin, fronted by entertaining Frankie Stevens on Friday evening 1 October 2010.

An Otaki IT security consulting company has been named Electra Business of the Year for Horowhenua and Kapiti. Aura Software Security is now one of New Zealand’s leading IT security companies with customers in Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch, Sydney and London.   Its world-class experts are popular as presenters on advances in IT security around the world, including Asia, USA and Europe.  The company is headquartered in the Otaki Gorge, with new offices springing up in the Wellington CBD with Auckland and Christchurch soon behind.

  • Small Business of the Year:  Allen Paper Ltd
    From humble beginnings in a Raumati South garage to a new purpose built paper processing facility, this business has become a leading paper packaging supplier for the hospitality and industrial sectors nationwide.
  • Highly Commended: Levin New World
    This is a family owned and operated local business employing more than 170 team members.   The premises have been recently extended and renovated and there have been new additions to the business services.   It supports local community events such as the Horowhenua Balloon Festival,a health shuttle, adopt an ANZAC, a hospice, Keep New Zealand Beautiful, schools, playcentres, sports and community groups.
  • There have been inductees in to the Nature Coast Hall of Fame since 2008.  Hall of Fame 2010 inductees were Jacob Slykhuis, John Turk and Selwyn Hide.
